Pirámide de Cholula

Zócalo
The term zócalo literally means "pedistal" and originates from the zócalo of Mexico City where a large pedistal was built for a monument, but never completed. The center of Puebla is the main plaza, or zócalo. The zócalo of Puebla is a shady park where people relax and enjoy the surroundings. On Sunday, the zocaló is bustling with music and intertainment. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, next to the zócalo, is one of the most beautiful in churches of México. Built between 1575 and 1649, the cathedral has twin towers that rise high into the sky. Many shops and delightful points of interest are a short walk from the zócalo.
